Commercially they dehydrate whey and add it to protein shake mixtures (ergo Whey protein shakes) and use it as part of the stuff they feed to animals as a protein source. I do not remember what kind of cheese it is, but it is a 'secondary' cheese that is made from the exhausted whey from the first cheese making process. Oh wait it just hit me, Ricotta is a whey cheese. and a link now that I know the name: http://www.wikihow.com/Make-Ricotta-Cheese You can use some of the left over whey from even the secondary cheese in dough based baked goods. http://greenprophet.com/2008/10/24/3631/homemade-whey-biscuit-recipe/ is an example of biscuits. If you have lots of whey you may want to consider composting it in the compost heap. This will require raking back the top 3-4 inches of your heap to pour the whey over the rest then recovering the pile, and you will need to turn the pile a little more often. The reason being is that the fats in the whey will slow down the 'cooking' of the pile. You bury it just to keep the larger critters away.
