it depends, but for a long time use, i choose the commercial one.
I can speak to the Free versions:
1) Glary Utilities - has a component called "File Undelete"
2) Recover Files 2
Both work fairly well at recovering deleted files. Of course, it will depend on how long the file has been deleted and the size of the file (larger files will be more difficult to retrieve).
I've used both but don't expect to be able to retrieve everything.
What a great fix up computer program for Windows? My p/c is freezing up with Norton. Any suggestions again. Sorry, ask this once.

I've recently had Vista Anti-Spyware. No icons will work, it always asks what I want to open it with, and it's annoying. Please help!
