The laws vary from state to state so you would need to contact the police department and insurance company. Here in Tennessee the fault is always the uninsured motorist as it is against the law to drive without insurance. Also here the insurance will only cover if the police has stated the other driver was at fault.
They should but your friend might have some questions to answer about why she has a car on the road with no insurance.
It should since he backed up into you.

You're reading A car in front of me attempted to turn right on a red light and then decided to back up and wrecked into me.I was driving my friend's car and she doesn't have ins.The other driver admitted fault. Will the other driver's ins cover the car I was driving?
Comments
On the police report it is stated the other driver backed into me. Had I known the car didn't have insurance I would have never driven it. My roommate did get a ticket.
