If you are asking if you did the right thing by leaving and not paying, I think you are absolutely within your rights to have done that. If you are asking if you did the right thing because of the esthetics, how do you look? :)
The only thing you did wrong was choose a bad barber. Too bad you couldn't give him a haircut in return.
Since your in Mindano, Phillipines. You could have been nastier and had the barber killed. I would say yes, you were kind! Especially since it is funny for all parties! I want pictures to laugh at! +5
lol......bad luck...
you did right thing.......
it sounds like it was just a misunderstanding. there isnt much you could do if he already started shaving it off. i dont believe it was right to jump out and leave without paying. you should have let him finish the hair cut at least, maybe try to salvage the beard, and then pay for the service.
well since he started... lol.. i would of let him finish the job.. and then walked out without paying..
The man didn't understand you. And they call the Philippines the "third largest English speaking country in the world"? You can get a better haircut in Vietnam.
I agree with penny lane. I would have asked for the owner or manager. You could have arranged to go a couple of times to trim your beard until it was left the way it was before they goofed. I would have paid. You should have let them complete the haircut and not pay for it.
Tech.when you leave, and dont pay for a service, its shoplifting.I would have walked out same as you!!!

You're reading The barber cut off my beard and I didn't ask for it. Actually, I stopped him from finishing the job because I jumped out of the chair, went out (without paying), with a half finished haircut and half of a beard. Did I do the right thing?

Well, I went to another barber shop... walked a mile to get there. That guy did a really good job, though it's a lot shorter than I wanted it. But that was to cover up where the other barber started shaving my head. My beard is 1/4 gone. I thought about wearing a bandage on my cheek.

I say no. You should have finished the service then discussed what wasnt right and pay for the service you requested.
