Dr's always look at your nails for signs of health problems. Certain diseases change the appearance of fingernails. Ridges could be signs of a serious illness or they could be sings of a Vitamin deficiency, or trauma to the nail itself. Better to let a Dr. make that diagnosis not us.

I have read that ridges can mean many things from a trauma to the nail, to nutritional deficiency, I have also heard anemia, if you have been ill for awhile, you might develop them, hopefully you will get a decisive answer! LOL
