  • They are renting the house on a sub-lease..!
  • It could be a short lease rental property, perhaps?
  • Crack House?
  • Maybe it was built on top of an ancient Indian burial ground and the spirits are driving them out by moaning and making objects move across the room.
  • If the people that are renting now are still there, why don't you ask them? Just tell them you're sorry you didn't have a chance to get to know them better... pity they've been there such a short time. "you know, come to think of it, just about everyone that moves in over here leaves after just a few months..." If they've already moved out, when the new tenants get there, make an effort to meet them early on. Take a plate of cookies over and say "Welcome to the neighborhood!" Then, when they look like they're moving out, you'll have the perfect "in" to ask what's going on. If you are a property owner in that neighborhood, unstable rental property will lower YOUR home's value. It's your right to stay informed.
  • is it a rental? Maybe they aren't paying their rent and they're getting evicted.
  • Could be anything. The house might be a piece of crap, leaky roof. Any number of things. Maybe they can't pay the rent? Nosy landlord. Ask.
  • Do people still welcome new neighbors or does it only happen in Desperate Housewives.
  • 1. the landlord doesn't spend time upfront assessing credit worthiness so people keep not paying and getting evicted after 3 months. 2. the house is haunted!
  • It takes three months for the demons to completely possess their new hosts but once they're through the vacancy sign goes up again.
