  • Show me in the bible where it says that.If you can't quit spreading lies.
  • No, but the way most cultures are set up means that men are typically more educated. Some countries don't even allow girls to go to school at all. Others have some form of peer pressure or preconceived notions about certain things that leads women down a different path. For instance, you don't often see a female engineering student or mechanic. There is nothing preventing them from taking such courses; it's just that they generally don't. There are many valid scientific studies that show that womens minds work differently from mens. This often gives them different aptitudes, but as far as overall intelligencew goes the two genders are equal.
  • What religions claim that men are more intelligent than women? Sexism is against the teachings of Jesus Christ and the Catholic Church: Created in the image of the one God and equally endowed with rational souls, all men have the same nature and the same origin. Redeemed by the sacrifice of Christ, all are called to participate in the same divine beatitude: all therefore enjoy an equal dignity. The equality of men rests essentially on their dignity as persons and the rights that flow from it: Every form of social or cultural discrimination in fundamental personal rights on the grounds of sex, race, color, social conditions, language, or religion must be curbed and eradicated as incompatible with God's design. For more information, see Catechism of the Catholic Church, sections 1934 and following: http://www.usccb.org/catechism/text/pt3sect1chpt2art3.htm#1934 The one exception is ordination: WWJD? What would Jesus do? The Catholic Church currently teaches: The Lord Jesus chose men to form the college of the twelve apostles, and the apostles did the same when they chose collaborators to succeed them in their ministry. The Church recognizes herself to be bound by this choice made by the Lord himself. For this reason the ordination of women is not possible. For more information see the Catechism of the Catholic Church, sections 1577: http://www.usccb.org/catechism/text/pt2sect2chpt3.shtml#1577 With love in Christ.
  • The Christian religions hold no such belief reguarding intellegence levels. I think this misconception comes from the scriptures that speak of an order to authority. That being that the direct head of man is God and that after this the direct head of women is the man in a family setting. Similarly there are scriptures that say it is prefered that men be preachers. This is commonly misunderstood to imply that men are superior. It just means that men should be given the FIRST CHANCE to lead. If a man is too weak to lead his household and the woman is capable and up to the task then there is nothing wrong with her taking the reigns as long as it doesn't cause discord in the family. Likewise, if no man is willing to stand up to lead a church and a woman feels called to the post then she SHOULD be permitted to hold the position of pastor. Man was created first and therefore gets first opportunities in things sort of like a birthright but is free to pass on opportunities whenever another appears better qualified. An Old Testiment example would be Deborah who held a Judge position when no man was capable. In summery men are not believed to be more inteligent Biblically but are expected to have first opportunities as a right of being first made.
