Well, to be fair, most of the time when a person gets an infection from a professional piercing, it's their fault. Even people that thought they did everything right may just have the bad luck to irritate it, touch it with a dirty hand, and have an infection set in within hours. Very few people, who were pierced by a trained professional in a region where piercing is regulated by health officials, get an infection because the piercing itself wasn't sterile.
But, the other risks, namely chipping a tooth and gum recession, would be something that it would probably fall on your dad to pay for. My parents were against it for that reason, they didn't want me to have one as long as they were paying my dental bills. Seemed fair.

there really nothing you can do to get him to say yes. just keep trying and wait till your 18. he is right some people do still get infections but not because they follow the instructions its because they don't. i think you should wait, because if you go behind your dad's back hes going to be mad, make you take it out and you just wasted the money to get it done. just wait till your 18

just dont it causes mouth diesease and it looks gross and feels gross plus it hurts and pusses in ur mouth and i just think its gross
