I have a 1990 Chevrolet Silverado. I replaced the motor with a 1993 engine. I started it and it got hot really fast. I replaced the thermostat, the radiator, temp. sensor, the fan clutch, and the water pump. I cannot drive it a mile without it overheating

    When my husband and I had an engine changed years ago the head gaskets were changed at the same time.
    A hint that this needs to be done would be oil in your antifreeze, antifreeze in your oil, sludge around your oil fill cap and antifreeze coming out of your exhaust pipe.

    the cooling shouldnt be a problem because it takes a few minutes before your engine should start overheating. what you can try though is when you start your engine turn the heaters on right away and if hot air is coming threw then you might have a better idea on whats going on. i am assuming you know how the heater system works.
