  • excersise as much as possible to get your mind off cigarettes and food. you'll feel better about yourself in the process :) good luck and congrats!!!! You can do it!!!!!!!!
  • dum dum suckers are cheap and give you the process you are used to and did not even run my sugar up.
  • try changing what you eat.try fruits and veggies.baby carrots make great substitutes similiar shape and size.you're doing the right thing 5 days is great,keep it up.
  • my dad had this problem. he stopped using major foods when he had a craving and started eating hard candy. ( like peppermints, jolly wranchers, creamsaver, etc.) i know its still food but no where near as fattening.
  • Try and eat foods that are not fattening. Drink lots of water. Go hang out with fat people.
  • Instead of food in your mouth try chewing the special gum. Then if you still have the need for a cigarette, what helped people in my family quit was to cut up straws to the size of cigarettes and use them as if it was a cigarette.

  • Just make sure you exercise regularly and find something to put in your mouth instead of a cigarette. Whatever hard candies you Scots have, as icysilver suggested.

  • Nicotinel do a handy aid for stopping smoking, its a cigarette shaped inhaler that gives you a small dose of nicotine every time you inhale therefore satisfying your bodies need for the drug, it comes without the tar and salt content as well which is good. Its a wierd feeling exactly like smoke going down your throat. It also comes in a cigarette shaped box so it give you the same action as opening a box and also the hand mouth action. When you stop smoking you are not only fighting an evil powerfull adiction you are also fighting years of ingrained habits. I speak from experience here. I used the nicotinel inhaler and gave up very easily with it. However there is a downside to this system.After 2 months you have to give up the inhaler, but if you have been following the products intructions you should be on minimum doses of nicotine by the end of this time. Get used to very high dry cleaning and laundry bills over the next few months, When I stopped smoking I could not stand the smell of my own home , had to clean all my clothes and replace curtains and carpets. On the pluss side after three weeks treat your self to a curry as your taste buds will have sprung to life and you will fall in love with food all over again.   • Smoking gave you an oral fixation, as gay as it sounds you always want something in your mouth, subconsciously, so buy alot of chewing gum.
