I have a PS1 game I play on my PS2. Whenever it gets to a certain place in the game, the screen freezes, but the music still plays. What's wrong?

  I PS2 (old thick version) will play games, but it grinds and constantly stutters or freezes. PS1 games and DVDs usually result in a disk read error. Do I need to clean my lens, re-align my lens, or both?
