Be careful about using the word "primitive". By whose standards are they primitive? That aside - I really don't know. But it's the same with all religious ceremonies throughout the world. How can you be sure that a prayer gets to your god of choice?

Its just like a prayer, it doesn't always rain straight away. it was so they got good crops for the season. they weren't primitive either, they are more advanced than you think.

maybe it does,but usaually it happens later.and i think people would know if they did it right.
