nope,firstly, if you did that and then stuck it in th battery compartment of something, it might ruin the casing and ware out the metal. Also i don't think you would want to use it afterwards anyway. You would have a better chance just leaving the batteries in the sun for a while.
Would a 3 volt light have the same luminous intensity on 2 AAA as 2 D batteries but not as long?
