This spring I want to read a good short, nonfiction book about baseball in America. Have you read a good baseball book? What is it?

You're welcome, Cassandra the CrusaderI love the title, too. Perhaps my favorite title of any book I've read. It's a quiet little science fiction novel. Unnerves me every time. "Midwich" is the name of a little town. [I should also probably say two movies were made from this novel - - both called " Village of the Damned. " The 1960's version is much better in my opinion. The second one was Christopher Reeve's last movie he filmed before his horse accident. ]Actually three movies -- the original 60's version had a sequel " Children of the Damned." Blah blah blah -- sorry. I really like all of Wyndham's books.

I'm so glad you elaborated for me! I will look for the movie as well as look forward to enjoying it. I will be getting back to you to and thanking you for the recommendation, I'm sure! Take care!

That's fun, Cassandra the Crusader. I hope you find them all enjoyable. Wyndham's writing style is a bit different in " Cuckoos" but I find him very worthwhile. That would be cool to hear from you on what you think of these if you get to them. Thanks for your note. [ I saw the original 60's film ( starring George Sanders )"Village of the Damned." Then I rushed to the library to read Wyndham's "Cuckoos" book - - I'm glad I did. ]
