Oh yes there are many lessons that can be taught and shared via a toy train. From the mechanics to how trains work to transport goods, economics, the rail system and geography and the personal responsibility aspect is important too by teaching how to properly care for the equipment.
Thomas the train is....he has his own show
They are for my nephew.. he's 3 and can name all the types of cars that are on the train.
They don't magically know the names of the types of cars, though...
someone(parents) has to tell them and teach them!
