A friend of mine has fallen inlove online and lied about her appearence,she shown this person a picture of someone thats not her and now she doesnt know how to tell him the truth, how should she start off?

Ah, lies. The basis of every fulfilling relationship. Until the lie is discovered, of course. She could always try "Hey, you know how the stereotypical online relationship always ends with someone finding out they don't look like the picture? Well..."

haha, she should plan a meeting to see him, maybe he doesnt look like his picture either, then they are trully soul mates...

"When we started this, I was just palying. I have come to really like you and would like to clear some things up." Then clear up the lies and ask for him to do the same. Reminder her that if he confess anything she shouldn't be mad either.

Well, she should probably tell him the reasons why she gave him a false picture. That she was scared, or thought he wouldn't like her the way she is. Then give him a real picture... good luck with that :)

End it and start over again. You can get away,for a time at least, with lying about your identity,family, bank balance and nationality. Faking your looks is more difficult.

I don't think there is any easy way to go about doing that. She is just going to have to come clean. More than likely he's not going to want to have anything to do with her after he finds out. But ya never know...he might just ask for her real picture and be a little bit angry...but get over it. Either way she shouldn't have lied in the first place. +3

First of all, it can not be love if it is based upon dishonesty... Secondly, she can come clean with the truth and see what the fallout brings, maybe the other person is fairly forgiving... But the insecurities in your friend need to be addressed before she can move forward in a relationship... Just my opinion.

Why do people do this? She deserves everything that happens for being so dishonest from the start. What was she thinking? Why would anyone start off a relationship with one giant lie. You/she need to come clean and Tell him the Truth Immediately. Its unfair to keep continue one minute longer.

Your friend was very wrong in sending a picture that was not her. She started the relationship off on the wrong foot by lying. Lying will not get anyone any where. It's ridiculous to send someone a fake pic because you think he may not like your real looks. Did she not think he would ever want to meet her in person? She is totally wrong in what she did and will have to deal with whatever happens. She needs to tell him asap and send a current pic so he knows who he is really talking to. I would drop her like a hot potato if I was him. She lied about how she looks, he is now going to wonder what else she lied about. She better come totally clean with him if she is really in Love with him. What she has done is so wrong. I feel sorry for her even though she has done a terrible thing. She must feel she is not attractive enough for him, if she could not send her real picture to him.
