I call it a drug store, which has a pharmacy inside. I only consider the counter where they give out the prescription stuff to be the pharmacy. Though now that I think about it, I think my wife referred to it as a pharmacy when she asked me to stop by there the other day. It gets a bit muddled. Sav-On Drug Stores, CVS Pharmacy. Same thing really.

"Where ya goin'?" "The drugstore." "What for?" "I have to go to the pharmacy."

Drug store mostly. Recently I came across someone who does not live in the states. She and a bunch of others come to the states for summer jobs. I asked her where the drugstore was and she did not get it. In her little accent she asked me 3x what I said and if I mean where they sell "pharmacy things". =P

There is a pharmacy in the drugstore. The pharmacy refers to the perscription counter, while the drugstore is all the other stuff.
