One bedroom vouchers you can rent efficiency or 1 BR but the efficiency can't cost as much as a 1 BR. You have different amounts. You need to tell Section 8 that she rented you an efficiency. Chances are that you won't have to move because it was her fault but if you don't tell them and you get found out it's called fraud. Tell them. They can advise you more than we could.
So she rented you a bigger apartment?
The only way you can keep it is if she lowers the rent to a one bedroom, since that's the biggest you were approved for.

You're reading My realistate lady rented me a one bedroom said the other was a effiecency. Im on sec. 8 allowed a one bed. only. How do I tell sec. 8 and keep it. She did an illegal act. she owns this house as well. I have to get out of illegal lease.

I don't think they can pay the difference. They used to be able to but now they have to be under that limit. Section 8 might be able to work with her since the landlord filled out the paperwork that it was a 1 BR but I don't know.

I went to Section 8, they told me what I need to do, but I had to go to the landlord myself, if they weren't willing to lower the rent, I would of been forced to move, however, filling those papers out for a one bedroom, does put a different spin on things.
