Its a pain killer use for most one step ups from over the couniter pain relivers. And it depends on when you "think" you got them. I d say 2-3yrs MAX but I m only givin advice I am not a DR :)

It is an opiate pain reliever. The Rx should have a "good until" date on it. As far as I am aware, most have a 90 day restriction. I'm not 100% positive for controlled substances like that, though.
