Why do 4H kids, who are tending to animals, wear white for their uniforms? Wouldn't brown to match the animal poop be more practical?

cause girl scouts have green and boy scouts have brown and they could get mixd up with them.

My kids do 4H and have never worn white. We show goats and dogs but we also watch the livestock shows each year at the fair too and I have never seen any of those kids wear white either. There are many different 4H groups across the country and each group can choose what their group's uniform will be. It could be just in your local 4H group, they chose that color. My kids wore red and blue this year.
