Go to your local recycling place. They should be able to tell you. If they can't or don't, they are shit for brains,...and tell them so.
Some states have their own can deposit rates, but there is a market for scrap aluminum that fluctuates daily. Call your local salvage yard...they will tell you what they are paying per pound.
The last I remember New York was paying a nickle.
