Will AB let you know if you become a category expert or you you just have to find out on your own?

They do not tell you .You just get a Drop down Expert tab on your profile.

Look on my profile you will see the word Expert with an arrow next to it. It is just above points. Click on the arrow and it will drop down.Then it shows a list of categories. Does not have to be mine on any profile that you see the word Expert in the centre.

I have been here a long time. You become an Expert by default. I have answered over 40,000 questions I have to have got more points on some subjects than other people. Also when people keep adding new categories you just keep getting categories .We must have 1000% more categories than we had when I started. So your questions are moved into new categories and you become an Expert without ever knowing you answered a question in that section. Simple :)
