Help answer this question below.

If you participate in clinical trials for pharmaceuticals (for money) and then die during this, will most insurance policies pay out death benefits on this?

    the answer to your question depends on certain variables. If the insurance policy is older than two years, than it will pay. However, if the insurance company is aware that this is what you are doing, you will be classed as high-risk and premiums will go up. Also, if the insurance policy is less than two years old, the insurance company has a clause which states con testability and if the death is not accident or natural cause, the company does not have to pay the claim.

    A life insurance policy in full force will usually pay the full death benefit, unless there is a clause in the policy specifically exempting this type of activity. The contestibility clause in most life insurance policies pertains to false or erroneous statements on the original application about one's health. For instance, if you have had cancer or heart trouble prior to applying for the policy, and you do not disclose that fact on the application, the company can refuse to pay the full death benefit; in such cases, the premiums paid in are refunded, at least in part.

    This particular type of death could possibly be classified as accidental, since it was not homicide nor suicide nor natural.
