Ok so my stupid boyfriend insists that eating weed can cause mouth cancer. i've done papers and research and find no where that it states it can cause mouth cancer, does anyone know anything about this?

• lol you asked for my sources, and i've seen videos like yours, and i admitted that yes there has been acidents with people under the influence of marijuana, but health wise, no one has ever overdosed on marijuana, people have overdosed on cocaine, and heroine, even the legal pills prescribed by doctors. but marijuana no one has ever died from marijuana alone.

• Lol it wassnt about me, we both smoke weed, alot. we just happen to get on the topic of is it harmful, and i have done so many papers and research on weed i pretty much no it all, but my bf is hard headed and wont believe shit unless he says it. there has been no scientific studies that prove marijuana causes mouth or stomach cancer, there arent any studies that prove it causes lung cancer either, it may higher the risks of it. marijuana doesnt harm anything, there are no long term damages from it. the american medical asso. approved it for legalization.

• There have been very few scientific studies of the effect of marijuana at all, since it is generally illegal. In order to study it, scientists have to get a special license, and very few such licenses are given out. Therefore it not that "science says it doesn't cause cancer" it is that we don't know, becasue science hasn't been allowed to test it.
  However, it has been shown that smoking almost anything causes cancer. The slow, incomplete burning of smoking is a real chemical factory generating highly reactive chemicals which are often carcinogenic. Smoke from cooking fires causes cancer, so it is almost certain that smoke from smoking week cause lung cancer: it as much the smoking as what is smoked which causes it.
  Most of the "interesting" chemicals in plants are chemicals that the plant produces to stop itself from being eaten. Therefore it is quite likely that if weed produces one defensive chemical, it produces others, which may be carcinogenic. While it is certainly not proved that weed is carcinogenic, because the tests have not been done, I would reckon the odds much higher than with ordinary food plants.

• i'm not wrong, i also stated there are no long term issues, there are short term. but in the long run marijuana smokers of 40 years, have been proven to be the same as any other person.
  
  people die for alot of reasons. health wise marijuana isnt harmful.
  
  and there has been some studies that show people drive better, when they are high, so maybe the person driving was on more than just marijuana, bc honestly i cant see anyone being high enough to not be able to drive.

• You have obviously made up your mind, and are not going to listen to evidence. Long term studies *have* shown that marijuana users suffer from short term memory loss. And I would ask you to present the evidence for the study showing that people drive better on weed: I have seen plenty of evidence for the exact opposite. You don't need to be incapable of moving the car, you just need your reactions slowed to cause and accident - and weed certainly does that.
