Gee I wonder. How can a child take care of themselves? It is a parents respoinsibilty to take care of and tend to the child which they have brought into the world. Its a reponsibilty, and not only that its a gift that some cannot have . Therefore no one should take advantage of that super gift. A cild left alone can be harmed, hurt, and thats not what a child deserves. A neglected child is one that suffers from the mistakes of irresponsible parents. No child should be left alone.

I would rather have a question about the color of my undies than this. It's quite simple, little children do not know how to take care of themselves. They are unaware of potential dangers. To leave them alone to fend for themselves could result in their death.

It's neglect, plain and simple. Neglecting the needs of your child to the point where the child's life may be endangered is against the law. Leaving a small child alone can result in serious bodily harm or even death of the child. Surely someone remembers the story of the mother who left her two small children home alone while she worked an overnight shift at McDonald's? While she was at work, the house caught fire and both children died as a result. Had she not left the children home alone she would have been there when the fire broke out, and may have been able to remove them from the home and they may still be alive.

Children need supervision, and neglecting to provide them with that is against the law.

I'm pretty sure that would constitute neglect which is against the law. First of all, you have to consider age, when you figure that out evaluate maturity but if a parent is going to leave young children unnattended they aren't the best judgement of that attribute. Children wouldn't know who to call in an emergency or how to feed and bathe themselves without getting hurt or hurting someone else or something. Besides think about the psychological affects. The bad clearly tops the good.
