Sounds like you have an engine vacuum leak. Look for a vacuum hose that is disconnected or cracked at the nipple. Don't just look at it but tug lightly one each vacuum hose to reveal any cracks in the vacuum hose. If there is an engine dust cover in the way, remove it.
