If you're dating casually is it best to assume that, even if the other person really likes you, that person is never gonna be serious about you?

Not exactly. Many factors are involved and if it's just casual, enjoy it for what it is. Also, the relationship must be balanced(meaning that their should be a mutual agreement on what type of relatiosnhip you both want). Talk to the other person involved and just ask questions and based on the answers, you should be able to determine the outcome. Good luck, but enjoy yourself no matter what.
