Fortunately for you, I am here to ease your fears. Aspiration is the cheapest, in which you allow the water to drop into an open air container and fall at least 18 inches. This is often not practical in a city setting though and a charcoal filter will remove most of it for you. There are all types but most R/O systems begin and end some type of carbon filter. The best one for the money I have ever found was called "the little skunk." It was a 1/4" inline filter that was intended only for your icemaker, refrigerator service. Really worked well with city water.
Let it stand in an open container. The chlorine will diffuse out of the water and into the air.
GE has a smart filter system I install them for two fifty parts and labor has a separate tap and take 99% of toxins out and filters for taste
Water filters that remove Chlorine. I like the Brita pitcher.
leave it out in the sunshine and the sun will cause the chlorine to leave the water.
