You're reading Do you think there is a certain age that is too old for a Mother to keep breastfeeding? Under what age is it appropriate and after what age is it not appropriate? (I am just curious on people's view on this subject.)

THats a good age, considering how much they socialize and have a healthy immune system.

6??? Years??
by smart9426 on March 12th, 2007
Yes, 6 years! It's silly to think that just because a child turns 1 or 2 that all of a sudden cow's milk is better for you.

Good Answer, I would say 4. The reason why I say this is, I don't think a child should go to school still being breastfed. It might not be good for the child when they go in to school and it is time for milk, and they have to leave to go get Mommy milk. They would be made fun of so bad these days, it might impact their life dramatically. Nevets -- Is that the Star of David and a Yamaka on your avatar/image?

6 years is ridiculous! Any child who is weaned/has teeth should not be drinking breast milk
by smart9426 on March 13th, 2007
If none of you has kids -just you wait til you do -this is all irrelevant. If you do, I feel sorry for them! Even animals dont continue feeding their young longer than necessary
by smart9426 on March 13th, 2007
I have put the points back. However, its your opinion that is the mistake nevets, a pretty sick one at that.If/when you have kids of your own, tell your partner you'd like her to breastfeed till the child is around 6 -see what sort of reaction you get!!
by smart9426 on March 13th, 2007
Well thats virtually the same thing! Most normal people stop way before then!
Note to self-give up AB-too many sick people on here
by smart9426 on March 13th, 2007
Your answer says'if it gets past age 6'-nothing subtle there
by smart9426 on March 13th, 2007
Read your answer! 'If it gets past age 6, it is time to wean your child off breastmilk'!! How many 6 year olds are ON breastmilk? Do you know any?
by smart9426 on March 13th, 2007
I have , and your answer is still way off
by smart9426 on March 13th, 2007
I happen to be a breastfeeding mother, and I most likely will not nurse my child till she is 6 (which is when she will start school), but I do agree this is a good age to put down your foot no matter what... Nevets is VERY logical and appropriate in this answer!
by Mini_kilt on March 13th, 2007
No normal child still wants the breast by that age -in my opinion it is an aberration on the mothers part to keep it going so long
by smart9426 on March 13th, 2007
For the most part you are right, which is why it should stop by then, hence the answer. Children almost always wean themselves by 4 or 5
by Mini_kilt on March 13th, 2007
Much sooner in the UK
