Whether they are in the sun or not is another thing to consider, the sun will dry them out faster. But really, are they that expensive to replace if one gets worn out? I dont know the going price but I'm sure they dont cost much.
  • Rubber bands are cheap enough to just replace them if they get old but if for some reason you have a favorite rubber band or something like that you can buy a product called Gummi-pflege and basically it is rubber care stuff that you just wipe on the band. (My brother uses it on the rubber parts of his slingshot)
  • Keep them in the freezer until you are ready to use them The cold seems to preserve them.

Put a rubber band ball into a cryo freezer and it turns into a meatball.
  • the fridge or the freezer is best and out of the sun like the other guy said and they are relativly inexpesive but maybe hes like me and has to order the 25-150 pounds at a time for a rubber band ball prject. where a box is between 5and 25 dollars.
