Help answer this question below.
First off the chance of your tongue getting infected is not very high if you take good care of your new piercing. Rinse it with an alcohol free mouthwash after ever meal/snack, and after every cigarette if you smoke. Do this for about the first week or so. Because of the nature of the mouth, oral piercings tend to heal more quickly and with a lower chance of infection.
Well smiley i got my tongue pierced 5 days ago sofar its still swollen its normal though...lolz
but i say u should go for it! and no it wont get infected if you follow all the rules they give you...
TIP: You should use listerine as your mouth wash but you need to use the original listerine to me it was kinda hard finding it but go to your nerest walgreens and i think they'll have it there.oh and after every kunch dinner ect rinse your mouth with it!
well hope i helped and stop worrying bout all of that nothing will happen to it trust me!
