It depends on what 'brand' of bot program you're using. I've tried several, and they do the same things, albeit probably in different order. After downloading and installing the bot program in your PC, this is usually how it goes: 1. In lieu of the usual 'Notice' board that you see when logging into the game, the bot program downloads the patches of the game for you. [you'll see a black window saying "loading maps", "loading items", etc.] 2. You are asked for your username and password. The bot program then logs in for you. 3. You are asked the server from which you want to bot. This is usually represented by a server number that the program assigned to it. [Loki server =1, Chaos Server=2, Lydia server=3, etc.] 4. You are asked to choose which character you would like to bot. [i.e. your priest which is character 1, your mage which is character 2, etc.] 5. The character begins fighting alone. You would usually have seperate windows: one showing your character's HP, SP, Base EXP, Job EXP [status window] A skills window, inventory window, The map window [so you can see where the character is], and most importantly a separate window showing what's happening to your character, something like this [my character's name is darkcountess]: >>locking on gef_fild02.vhm >>Poring engaged >>Poring tries to attack you-- MISS >>Poring tries to attack you-- MISS >>Poring tries to attack you-- 15 dmg >> Used 1 red potion >> Poring killed in 2.5 seconds, BASE EXP gain .0034%, JOB EXP gain .0017% >> 1 jellopy dropped >> 1 jellopy picked up >> Poring engaged This goes on and on, ad nauseam. @_@ And that's it... To stop the bot, you just close the program of course ^_^
