Is there any "cheat" methods to memorising jazz scales like the circle of fifths for major and minor scales

    not really just play alot.
    although when they ask me to play a scale i dont know how to play i visualize the key sig. and play the notes

    The only cheating I can think of is to get someone else to record it, then put your name in the credits. I really don't think you can cheat playing. Either you can or you can't. There is also a difference of being able to play something, then getting it to performance level. I've practiced something for days and weeks, thought I had it, then tried to play it live in a performance and blew it. Practice level and performance level are different. Does that make sense?
