What could suddenly be causing intermittent but regular static interference on the AM band of my home radio, It starts every 80 seconds and lasts 35 seconds. I hear it running on DC also.

    Something that regular is probably a thermostat or similar.

    Electric motors can induce signals. Like an air conditioner coming on and off, or a well pump, refrigerator, etc. But the regularity of your signal would seem to indicate something else.

    Saturns rings have so much electromagnetic power that when ur am radio is set cloase to the end of the stations (the highest number), Its rings can make a tonof static in certain areas and im being totally truthfull
