Help answer this question below.

What could suddenly be causing intermittent but regular static interference on the AM band of my home radio, It starts every 80 seconds and lasts 35 seconds. I hear it running on DC also.

Something that regular is probably a thermostat or similar.

Electric motors can induce signals. Like an air conditioner coming on and off, or a well pump, refrigerator, etc. But the regularity of your signal would seem to indicate something else.

- possibly. It might even be transmitting signals within its system or to an external reporting network. And if the frequency it uses is harmonic to your radio frequency, or (more likely) if the transmission bleeds across several "channels", you could get that static.

- I'm not sure. There was a CBer in the building next door a few years ago. I sometimes picked up what I thought was CB interference from his antenna once in a while on my computer speakers, but I didn't have static on the AM band back then. This just started a few weeks ago. Could a smoke detector cause it or a radio frequency doorbell?

- If it were, it wouldn't be intermittent.
  I wonder if a harmonic off a computer wifi connection might be the cause?

Saturns rings have so much electromagnetic power that when ur am radio is set cloase to the end of the stations (the highest number), Its rings can make a tonof static in certain areas and im being totally truthfull
