Illinois vehicle registration: I got a ticket for expired registration, I had paid on-line for new stickers but had not received them yet. Can I get out of the ticket?

    Maybe, providing your new stickers arrive before your court date.

    If they do, take the stickers to court with you and present them to the court.

    More than likely, yes. When you go to court, bring your receipt for your stickers, along with any paperwork that comes with your them. You can argue that the state of Illinois should not profit for its own slowness. You acted in good faith by properly paying/registering in time, the state and the court should also maintain that good faith by dismissing the charges.
