  • No, what do I care? What good would THAT do?
  • No. Definitely not. Sometimes ignorance really is bliss!
  • of course, I could do a lot in a year.
  • G'day Final Starman, Thank you for your question. I wouldn't make that deal at the moment as I hope to live for a few more years yet. If I was older and in poor health, I might be tempted. However, if I found out that there was a place called hell and the devil had a booking in my name, that wouldn't be terribly comforting. Regards
  • One year is enough time to reveal much of that knowledge to the world, so yes if it helped anwser many age old questions.
  • I've always viewed life as being a journey, with the knowledge coming from experiences we pick up along the way. If we take the shortcut then it would defeat the purpose of even having a journey here in life, so no. I'd rather live and learn than die and know without having had experienced it for myself.
  • There are plenty of things I'm perfectly happy not knowing, or knowing about. Dying in a years time would break me away from my family, and I'm sorry, but I'd rather not know everything there is to know, if it was between that or spending a full life with my loved ones. So, as an answer to our "Deal or No Deal" question: No.
  • I'm content letting God handle that knowledge. I don't need to know everything. I might die in a year's time anyway, and I'm trying to live my life as though I might. My health isn't good. I'm trying to throw my child as far ahead as I can before I go.
  • If I had to die one year AFTER gaining that knowledge, YES! I would have enough time to share what I knew with the rest of the world. I want to leave the world better for having had me in it--I can think of no better legacy.
  • No because what fun is knowing everything? People sharing their knowledge with each other about what they know is what makes the world great. One person knowing everything wouldn't need anybody.
  • To have that knowledge, I'd want to share it. The problem is, I don't think most people would listen. I think that would be a miserable year and it would probably make me depressed, considering I would then understand where my existence fits into the whole universe (think infinite perspective machine). There are some things I would want to know and some things I would not, considering ALL things in the universe equals all people and thoughts and actions, etc. I guess I wouldn't ask for the ability but if it came I would try my best.
  • Probably... because if life after death existed I'd know it was only a year to go until a whole new adventure, and if it didn't exist I'd start wondering what the point of being alive was was if at the end all that happens is you cease to be. Either way, kicking the bucket in 12 months would begin to look like an added bonus instead of a penalty.
  • No im not that curious...plus a year is not enough time to spend with peopel that are important to me.
  • I don't want to know all the knowledge in the universe, it might be horrible. Suppose there is no life after death, I'd know it. Then, in a year I'd be gone, no hope? No not for me.
  • No. If I had known everything that I was going to go through any of the last 4 years, I would have killed myself immediately, and been no use to anyone. Besides, If you had all the knowledge in the universe, 1 year wouldn't be enough time to share it, there would be no surprises left for anyone else in the universe to discover or be surprised by, ever, and you would be so busy trying to share everything within a year, that you wouldn't be able to enjoy or spend time with your family or friends, so what would be the point.
  • Never! I wouldn't want to know the future or all the knowledge in the universe, then life would suck and there would be no beautiful surprises. It's not worth it to me.
  • this is one of the more interesting questions that i've read here. i think it has the makings of a nicholas cage movie! if i knew i were going to die in less than a year, then, yes. otherwise, i think that my ignorance is protecting me, allowing me to know that which i'm able to comprehend when able. knowing too much might challenge my understanding of the universe, which i probably couldn't handle ...
  • nope. i am perfectly fine leaving the world's mysterys to be just that, mysterys.
  • No, I prefer to keep my head in the sand.
  • yes because in the infinte knowledge of the universe there might be a way to prolouge your life or live forever. and knowing everthing would be cool
  • In a heartbeat! Knowledge is what I live for now and it kills my soul that I could never learn it all.
  • If i knew everything i wouldn't want to live. I would rather continue living my life the way it is learning something new at every given opportunity.
  • No, I already know waaaay too much...
  • This isn't really about the question but believe me or not but for one brief moment in time i actually held all the knowledge in the universe. it was a feeling so strange and amazing that i can't really explaine it eversince then i have forgotton everything except how the universe was created and the existence of god i will spend the rest of my lif trying to tap into that state again.
  • Depends... I would have to have a much more specifc contract drawn up on that one covering all the possibilities and bases. Didn't you see Aladin? These things can be tricky. As long as I got to go to Heaven... I would agree to it right now!
  • YES! Knowledge gaurantees everything, so you can probably achieve everything you wanted in your entire life. Plus, makes the world a better place and as someone pointed out, you also have the knowledge of how to break out of the 1year contract.
  • Oh hell no. What good is knowing all that going to do me if I have to die and leave all bragging rights behind??
