i've had mine for 4 months now...so i pretty much know what im talkin about. DO: rinse ur mouth a few times daily with alcohol free mouthwash or diluted mouthwash(1/3 mouthwash, 2/3 water). DO: eat lots of cold things popsicles, freeze pops, ice, etc. it'll help ur swelling. DO: brush your teeth and area around your piercing gently twice a day. DO: sterilize your tongue rings after you purchase them NO MATTER WHERE YOU GET THEM FROM...DO NOT: eat any dairy products for the first week or so while your tongue is still swollen(YES, you can and most likely will end up with yeast growing in ur mouth! EWW). DO NOT: change your tongue ring for at least 5 weeks, you're really supposed to wait 6, but i got anxious and changed mine in 5 and everything was fine. So those are the basics...if you have any other questions about your piercing, e-mail me: d_carter23@yahoo.com.
