Help answer this question below.

I didn't take the last active pill of my pack. My period should have started 4 days after I took the last active pill, but it hasn't. Might I be pregnant, and how should I handle this situation in the future?

    Yes, you could be pregnant!!!


    The chance of getting pregnant because of forgetting a pill is larger in the first half of the cycle though.
    What to do when you forget your pill:
    - If you notice it within 12 hours: take the pill as soon as you notice if you have a high dose pill; if you use the "minipill" only take it if you notice you have forgotten it within three hours. Then continue normally with the next pill at the usual time you take it.

    - If you notice later: throw away the pill you forgot and continue normally BUT additionally use a condom or other form of birth control for about a week. If you forget the pill at the end of the cycle, as you have, you can also continue with the next package (next first active pill) right away which means you will not have your period for once. You should not do this repeatedly though.

    If you'd take some advice from me: You should definitely read the package insert and talk to your gynecologist about these possibilities, about other situations in which you can get pregnant, although you take pill what (diorhea, puking, certain medicine...) and also about how the pill works until you really understand it. Talk about it with some girlfriends - if any questions come up you can't answer: ask your gynecologist again! I'm really sure he'll be glad to answer your questions.
