Do you ever look at the fret positions for some guitar chords and wonder just how the hell some guitarists manage to get their fingers in that position?

Definitely. Classical guitarists use these kinds of chords very often. An example is the common first-position C major shape transposed further up the neck, forcing your pinky on the fifth-fret root, your ring finger on the third, your middle finger on the octave, and your index on the barre. It's a workout.

    Yep!
I have really small hands, so it's really hard.
Everytime I try to stretch my fingers they barely make it, then they cramp. Haha.

Yeah, all the time. Especially since I have little girl-hands. >=[ I can seldom even bar more than 2 strings, and they have to be on the same side, because I suck that bad. And even with regular chords, it's a miserable attempt at contorting my hands into some un-natural position where I can barely keep my hand like that long enough to strike the chord.

When I look at some of the positions that Walter Becker (Steely Dan) plays, I feel that way. Some of the 9th chords he plays are quite a stretch. I guess he has bigger hands or longer fingers than I do.
