I live on a beach and yes, I pick up the odd plastic soda bottle and drop it in the trash cans that are spaced about every 100 yards. Surprisingly, I don't find much trash on our beach and I know that other residents do the same as I because I see them on my walks. I am especially adept at detecting fishing line in the sand which is very deadly to wildlife.

Don't live near a beach, a major highway, or even a real city, yet pick up trash and broken glass a lot. Country people are every bit as trashy as city people.
