    I saw a special on this. It is odd that, since the family that reported the horrors moved, there has been nothing further in the house. It seems that the family concocted the horrors, to make money, using the unfortunate murders that happened there as a basis.
    However, Wikipedia gives a pretty good account of the pros and cons, so have a read:

    The house was full of horrors due to Ronald Defeo, Jr's brutal murder of his entire family. That is the true horror.

    I believe the Lutz family went through something in the house. Whether you believe it is otherworldly, or whether you believe it is the power of suggestion (knowing about the crime that took place there) on overly imaginative minds that amounted to group hysteria is a matter of opinion and conjecture.
