I knew foreign students in graduate school who could stay in the United States longer if they were registered as students. So they earned bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees. One man earned both a Ph.D. and an Ed.D. Some had three master's. The longest I heard any of these people stay was 18 years. That was enough time to get their kids into an American university from an American public school education.

And i know there is someone who stay at home for over 10 years just because he didn't want a job.
