Help answer this question below.
There is a huge difference between a person who loves kids, and a person who is sexually attracted to kids (and that is the definition of a pedophile).
Pedophilia denotes a SEXUAL interest in children which is improper and perverse. If you have love and concern for children, this does not make you a pedophile.

I truly hope you were not aware of the true definition of the word and not trying to be "funny".
Why do people confuse paedophiles with child molesters? I hate it when they do that...
Psychologically, a PEDOphile is a person sexually attracted to a person under the age of 13.
An ephebophile is a person who is sexually attracted to a person 13 to legal age.
You'll find that pedophile, by definition, is someone who is attracted to children for sexual purposes or reasons. That leaves out parent etc.
you lack common sense , meaning you have a lack of abilty to REASON wisely....too many banana's ?

Would you be so kind as to pull that sticker off of my back? That kid over there stuck it on. He's a brat.

You're reading Why is the term "child molester" being replaced with "pedophile?" Technically, shouldn't all mothers and kindergarten teachers be pedophiles? (people who love kids).

Thanks, pecks! What a stupid, bloody question.

It's not a stupid question Caitlin, you twit. It is a question about language, and why a positive term would be changed into a negative term. Since you're obviously oblivious, an "audiophile" is one who loves music. Yet if we try to make "phile" mean perversity, that damages the language, ultimately, as people would fear being called a Francophile, an audiophile, or any such positive term.

Well, if you had explained that in your question, you may have got a different response.
