IWhen I was younger I began to associate Mt.Dew as a comfort when I was sad and down.Now its almost an addiction I can't go a day without drink a lot of it.My doctor told me I am a little overweight. I am at high risk for diabetes, but I can't stop. Help!

    i have diabetes i just go with dt mt dew but it might take you a few days to get used to it. i accidentally picked up a sugar kind after drinking diet for years, the sugar kind tasted funny to me.

    Young children often have a special comfort object and it can be difficult to wean them away from ‘lovies’ they’ve depended on to soothe and calm them since they were babies…

    Two ways, I think of doing this.

    One, you could subsitute your Mt. Dew for something less strong, and then work on substituting that for water.

    Or, you can trade your MT. Dew addiction for a different addiction. Decide on something realistic that you're willing to do, and then whenever you feel like drink the Mt. Dew, do the other thing instead. Hardest thing I think is to be consistent with it. First two weeks seem killer, but it's worth it to get over the hump.
