• Case in point, the average guy making a good wage does not go to the doctor for checkups as often as he should. Why? Because he really cannot afford it, so he dies of heart disease(heart attack, stroke) or becomes disabled. We are not talking about the poor now. We are talking about the middle class. Do nothing now and to use an analogy if you change your oil your car will last a lot longer. Preventive medicine will lower overall costs. If this person becomes disabled because he did not do preventive medicine he is now a burden on the system. This is just one example. It's happening every day in this country.

I have walked out on incompetent doctors, told a doctor he was a fucking asshole(he recommended a surgery I was not, nowhere or anywhere medically able to have), a doctor gave me a operation that was not needed so he can get money from Medicare(I want to kick his ass he screwed up my leg)he outright lied to me, so for me it can't get worse. • My coverage changes all the time and I have no control over that. Every year I get a new plan, some years it went up and some it went down, the premiums always went up but the deductibles change. Your coverage is never ever static it has never been and most people do not know that until they get sick. So all this says is that they can keep doing what they have been doing and change your plan as the economy changes. This is nothing new. You do not understand how healthcare works.

• In fact this can help you if they were honest and part of the Obama plan is to try and keep them(HMOs, Doctors, Pharmaceutical companies) as honest as possible. If a certain medication goes down in cost and your plan remains the same you pay the old higher cost. If an old procedure becomes less costly and your healthcare does not change you pay the higher old cost. Your plan cannot and never has been static, it always has changed year to year depending on outside issues.

• There is no way to make an ultra liberal see the good in being conservative as there is no way to make the ultra conservative understand what being good is. I see the right as people who are cruel and lacking of compassion, I see the ultra left as having the compassion but not knowing when compassion has to be overridden for the good of the majority. There is a middle ground of taking each issue and applying different philosophies to come up with a solution. People on such opposite ends cannot compromise so that the machine keeps running. Their own self righteousness will lead them to destroy what has been built rather than compromise to keep it functioning.

• Nothing in this excerpt says that anyone would be banned.
  These are the conditions for grandfathering from old insurance policies into the new system. A new person may not be added to a grandfathered policy after the new system goes into effect. They will be subject to the new system. That is in no way a denial of coverage. It just means that you will not be able to piggy back onto a grandfathered policy. It also states in no uncertain terms that all dependents, covered at the time of the grandfathering, will be permitted continued coverage. This means that if you like your coverage, YOU GET TO KEEP IT, and if you want to add someone new, a non-dependent, to a policy, you will have to comply with the new standards.
  Downrate me all you want. You'd have to be an IDIOT to misunderstand the text of this document to the point of accusing the president of limiting freedom.

  About the bill I do not like it at all!! I see it as a attack on the elderly and unborn. It seems like the only people they they are really concerned with are the illegals and the youth to middle aged.
  That is what I gather from scanning over the bill.

  To be honest if he wanted to make health care more affordable he could start by tort reform. But I do not see that as his real goal.

  The only way to control the middle class is to break them down to nothing, and then tell them you have all the answers. Remember he said "The stimulus is working just like he planed". So did he plan for unemployment to go so close to 10%? and so on and so on.

  As for the Health Care I do not care if "Mother Teresa" wrote the bill! I do NOT want the government to have any more control than they had before FDR! I know it is a lot to want but hey I still have my dreams!

  People always say it is not like they will take my land or home. I say bull$hit! Do some research on T.V.A. (Tennessee Vally Authority). Thousands of people were forced out of their homes some were paid what the land was worth after informing the public the land would be flooded so the rate was next to nothing, and if they refused they were forced out with no money at all.

• The government has been doing those things to people since we became a country and before. We have done some horrible things to people, the indigenous people here were wiped out, we killed each other by the thousands during the civil war. We experimented on people without telling them like the Nazi's did. The list goes on and on and on. I can fill up books with things this government and the big corporations like Henry Ford and Exxon have done to the people of this country. This new bill for healthcare is trying to stop the rising costs and help the people of America. Maybe the rich have to finally kick in their share because the the backbone of this country, the middle class no longer have the money, we were sucked dry by the Bush administration.

While the other morons in congress say well it's not that good, they have had 20-30 years to do something and they have done nothing. Now Obama must come in and try to save the patient like Dr. House because nobody has done shit. If someone has a better idea let's hear it, they don't, so STFU and try to get this into law. Once we have done that we can keep moving forward improving it and fixing the things that are broken or did not work. But to do nothing is akin to just sitting there and letting the patient die. The fact that people just do not understand this simple fact amazes me.

• Everybody already pays their healthcare. Y'all are ignorant. You don't understand how it works. And I know you did not listen to Obama last night. A man without healthcare has a cold, he never goes to the doctor because he has no coverage. Guess what he ends up in the hospital because he has pneumonia. He's there for a few weeks until he can be released. Your premiums have that paid for, that';s why your premiums are so high. Instead of a few dollar doctor visit it turned into a $100,000 hospital stay. You are already paying for it, it's built into your premiums. Plus the government pays for it so it's tax dollars. Nobody gets it, they do not understand how healthcare works.

• there are two major reasons that healthcare is so high, 1- until frivolous lawsuits are brought under control so doctors aren't spending half or more of their earnings on insurance costs and who are forced to order tests that they feel are not necessary but must to cover their butt, costs will never be controlled. 2- until we stop covering people who don't work but could, people who are here illegally and anyone else who does not pay into the system, healthcare costs will never be controlled.Neither of these problems will be addressed because these people are the major voting block of the democrats, too risky for them.
