If i had games saved on my memory card for my ps2 and one day, one of my games broke, if i buy a new cd game, will i be able to play the game i saved on my memory card before it broke?

  Memory card for ps2 is not allowing me to go to a saved mission on gta 3 and just starts a new game. I deleted other games to have more room. I restarted ps2 and blew on the memory card. It didn't work. What might be wrong? and what do I have to do?
