Internet Connection Question: Recently installed XP Black on my GF's PC. It's a Dell Dimension B110 Desktop with stock parts. Before, internet connection was working fine. Now shows "limited or no connectivity." Wired, no router. ...(more in answer)

I downloaded all the drivers Dell.com had available for that model, and installed them all except a few, which were for the CD/DVD drive, which isn't stock and worked perfectly anyway.

The ethernet cord's connector lights up when plugged in, so I know it has power.

Her previous version of Windows was XP home.

So, my question is, what's the matter, and how do I fix it?

And yes, I am using a different computer to ask this, oh smart populous.
