Can I put a password on a word document? I want to keep some of my documents private as I have a shared computer. I have microsoft word 2007. Thanks!

Yes, click the circular Vista icon at the top left corner of the document. Select "Prepare" document. Select "Encrypt Data". Type your password. Done.

Here's another option for you to, take any file and place it in a locked program that only you can open with a password.

http://www.snapfiles.com/Freeware/
look down the page under security/privacy
file encryption tool (click)
new page open and you will have alot of choices to look at, just read and find one that suites your needs.

If you have a shared computer, then you should have it set up for different users, each having their own password.

Its easy with XP. Click on "file" then "save as" then "tools" then "General options" and from the "password". Simples +2

Oh yeah..I have windows Vista..can I put a password through that maybe?
