Most home systems today will have around 2 or 3 GB memory, so IMVU will most likely only take up a few meg when running.

Lets take a step back and see what you could be asking.

A visit to the IMVU website shows that its a dressing up game with chat that only works on Microsoft Windows. It has an installer that needs to be downloaded. If you no longer wish to use IMVU then delete the installer and uninstall the program.

Uninstall IMVU and install SecondLife. If you're running a crappy program it might as well be one you can actually do something on.

It can't take 20 GB of memory, 20 GB of hard drive space perhaps. If it does drain your memory, are you maxed out with additional memory for your machine. Check the specs. As time goes on more and more memory is going to be needed for programs.
