I own a 2002 jeep liberty, it acts like the gas pedal sticks, the rpms rev really high & it doesn't want to stop. Any ideas on what the problem could be?

is it a stick, if so clutch might be going

I have a 2001SC1 Saturn...it will not idle down after you remove your foot from the gas pedal...you can kick it out of gear into neutral and apply the brake to a stop...then it will gradually decrease the RPMs...could this be the ECTS causing the problem?
